AS til 40K 8th edition Pre-game changes: Objective Placement and Choosing Deployment Zones Rulebook Change: Both players roll of. The player with the highest roll decides if he wants to place the first objective. Rulebook Change: The player who placed the first objective marker chooses the deployment zone. Who gets first turn. Rulebook Change: A D6 roll off is made after deployment – The winner decides if he wants to start (The opponent gets to try and seize the initiative). The player who finished deploying first gains +1 to the dice roll for every 3 additional drops the opponent have (minimum +1) – Yes you get to “autostart” if your opponent have 15 more drops than you (+5 to the dice roll) - You hear them coming. Army Composition (2000 pts – 3 detachments) Detachments Rulebook Change: No detachment can be used more than once in any given army Faction Keyword Restrictions (Detachment restrictions) Units with the Imperium faction keyword and units with the Imperium AND Adeptus Astartes faction keywords must have at least one other faction keyword in common in order to be in the same detachment (I.e. a detachment with Adeptus Astartes units must have the same chapter faction keyword). Units with the Aeldari faction keyword must have at least one other faction keyword in common in order to be in the same detachment (Don’t worry – Ynnari army lists gain the Ynnari faction keyword). Units with the Tyrannid faction keyword must have at least one other faction keyword in common in order to be in the same detachment (I.e. no Genestealer Cults and Tyrannids in the same detachment). Units with the Chaos and units with the Chaos AND Heretic Astartes faction keywords must have at least one other faction keyword in common in order to be in the same detachment (I.e. the “Mark of Chaos” or “Legion” faction keyword) If an army contains more than one detachment – They must have at least one faction keyword in common (I.e. Imperium/Aeldari/Tyrannid/Chaos/Tau/Ork/Necron/Etc). Unit Restrictions - ARMY WIDE RESTRICTIONS Rulebook Change: Vehicle squadrons may not be composed of more than two vehicles with Toughness 7 or more. Rulebook Change: Flyer: There is a limit of two flyers in the army. This meaning units with the “Airborne Rule” - Not units with the fly keyword (This means the Air Wing detachment is not available). Rulebook Change: Lords of War: There is a limit of one Lord of War in each Army (This means the Superheavy Detachment is not available). Dublicates Units (Not including characters) Each army is not allowed to take any dublicates of units (any kind), until you have used up all available options (HQ, Elite, Troops, Heavy Support, Fast Attack, Dedicated Transport, Flyer, Lord of War). Units with more than two or more faction keywords, that also have the option of choosing a specific faction keyword, do not count as an available choice concerning dublicates. For instance a “Khorne Faction Keyword Detachment” does not have to choose units of CSM Marines and CSM Cultists as Troops, as they do not automatically come with the “Khorne” faction keyword, but do have the option of choosing it. – And if you choose to have a unit like this, they become available as a troop choice. You may not make any duplicates, until you have used up all options (not including characters) within that category. If you want a triplicate of a unit, you need to have dublicates of all other available options within the category. Examples: As this is an Army Wide restriction you are not allowed to take a Stormraven in a Space Marine Detachment and a Stormraven in a Grey Knight Detachment - At least not until you have used up alle other available Space Marine Flyers Astra Militarum Faction: Basic “Astra Militarum” have three troop choices: “Conscripts”, “Infantry Squad” and “Militarum Tempestus Scions”. If you want to have two units of “Conscripts”, you have to buy an “Infantry Squad” and a “Militarum Tempestus Scions” as well. If you want to have three units of “Conscripts”, you would need to include two “Infantry Squads” and two units of “Militarum Tempestus Scions” as well. Note that it is possible to create a “Militarum Tempestus Detachment” – As such you are allowed to create as many scion troop units as you like, as they are the only available troop choice. Adeptus Ministorum Army Faction: have one troop choice: “Battle Sisters Squad” – They are allowed to take as many units of these, as they like. Tzeentch Army Faction: If you would like to have two units of Brimstone Horrors, you would have to choose: “Tzaangors”, “Rubric Marines” before you could choose a second unit of “Horrors”. Nurgle Army faction: If you want to choose two units of Nurglings, you would have to choose: “Plague Marines”, “Poxwalkers” and “Plaugebearers” before you could choose your second unit of “Nurglings”. Characters If you want to include two or more identical type of characters, you would have to use up all characters within that category, before you can choose character no. 2 (I.e. before you can choose Ravenwing apothecary no. 2 (Elite, Character), you would have to include a Ravenwing Ancient and a Ravenwing Champion. A character of a specific type counts as being identical, whether or not he is on foot, on a bike, with a jump pack, on a thunderwolf or in terminator armor etc. I.e. you cannot include a Chaplain on a bike and a chaplain in terminator armor, until you have used up all the different kinds of HQ slots. And on the other hand, you don’t have to include the various kinds of characters, before you can choose character no. 2. Note that named variants of Characters type (See keywords) counts as a choice – I.e. Brother Captain Stern counts as a “Brother Captain” choice, Illuminor Szeras counts as a Cryptek, Pask counts as a Tank Commander, Yarrick counts as a Commissar etc. Note that Eldrad does not count as a Farseer 8). Forgeworld is allowed – You can add three different units of Forgeworld to your army. If you want to play a Forgeworld detachment such as Death Corp of Krieg, Renegades you have to take this as a Faction Specific Detachment with all the restrictions that follows (Contact me, if you are in doubt). Note that "Breaking the system lists" are allowed - You just need to contact me prior to the tournament This system is not perfect, and it will be adjusted over time. As such, I have not yet decided, whether or not different variant of the same unit counts as dublicates (I.e. Landraider Variants, Riptide variants, etc - This will be decided shortly). At the moment, they are in.
